This is a really incredible speaker. I only found out about it because I saw it in Currys, and playing it next to the Bose it was honestly not much between the two and the Bose is three times the price. So I took a punt on it and sat it next to my original Kitsound Hive which I've had for many years and I thought was a top quality product. A quick comparison test between the two using Spotify and one bluetooth source to switch between the two - and the Jam HM speaker made the Hive sound like tinny phone speakers. The clarity, sound quality and bass shone through and the build quality feels exceptional, it has a great weight to it and lovely finish. The battery life is not as good but it would be more than adequate at a party for example and it's rare that you wouldn't be able to charge it if you needed to. I actually use this as a laptop speaker and so it gets used for hours on end every day, and I usually find myself charging it every 2-3 days. Others have made complaints about irritating voice overs but I've not experienced any of this, it uses a loud tone to tell you it's turning on/off, ready to connect, and connected/disconnected.This is an incredible speaker and in my opinion, easily the best value for money giving high end sound but with a reasonable price tag. Definitely worth trying before buying something like the Bose and also worth trying if considering a cheaper speaker from another brand because this is likely to take your money after hearing it, regardless of your initial budget.
