Works really well as a steamer for vegetables such as broccoli and carrots. It took way to long to steam potatoes for me and i didn't try any meats or fish so can't comment or even imagine how long those would take. I own an electric steamer which i love and is amazing at doing full meals but this little gadget is great if you are making a steak pie for example and just need a little veg steamed off. The tub also doubles as a good storage tub to take lunch to work in.
